Nandini Bhatia
My name is Nandini (she/her) and I am a counselling psychologist. I hold an M.Sc. Counselling Psychology (2021-23) degree from Christ University, Bangalore. Here, I was awarded the 2023 Dr John C. Carey and Judy Carey Scholarship in recognition of my potential for excellence in furthering the field of Counselling Psychology. As a mental health professional, I have worked with clients with concerns such as relationship issues, sexual wellbeing, anxiety, depression, trauma self-actualisation, family of origin issues, work-life balance and workplace wellbeing, adjusting to life changes, etc. As a researcher, I have explored the intersection of mental health and climate change, and also invite conversation about it in the therapy room.
I have completed the Young India Fellowship (Post Graduate Diploma in Liberal Studies - 2016-17) from Ashoka University and Certificate in Counselling Skills (2020-21) from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. I am fluent in Hindi, English, and Punjabi (working proficiency).
My approach in therapy is to focus upon cultivating a strong and warm relationship with my clients and use that as a vehicle for exploration, collaboration, and growth. I currently draw from relational and cognitive-behavioural schools of psychotherapy. I also strive to be trauma- and queer-informed in my work. I view my clients within the context they exist in and the various identities they embody. I understand that their concerns and supports may both exist not just in them as an individual, but also in their systems, stories, and context.
I provide individual counselling services and I offer a sliding scale for my charges (for working professionals I charge between 1000 to 1300 INR per session, while for students, I charge 800 to 1000 INR per session)
